What is a Program Kit?
A Program Kit is a detailed curriculum box that includes everything your Girl Scout troop needs to expand their Girl Scout experience! We've got lots of goodies including Program Guide and permanent supplies. A virtual Program Guide is a curriculum guide that will contain a description of the activities, recommended age level for the activities, a list of supplies provided and/or needed and how the activities relate to the Girl Scout National Program Portfolio. Program Kits can be specific to a Girl Scout program level or can be multilevel. Each Program Kit is different. Refer to the Program Kit you are interested in for details.

How much does it cost to rent a Program Kit?
Each Program Kit will require a refundable deposit to secure the reservation and will be held until the Program Kit is returned in the condition it was checked out. Some of the Program Kits require a small per girl charge. The small per girl charge will allow us the funds to be able to replace supplies when needed as well as create new Troop resources. Please see the Program Kit summary for specific details and per girl fees. Deposits and rental fees will need to be paid by a troop debit card or credit card in order to hold the reservation. You can reserve a Troop Resource using cash or a Troop check, however the Troop Resource is not reserved completely until the deposit and rental fee has been received by the shop. Virtual Program Guides are free to download.

How long can we keep a Program Kit?
You may keep a Program Kit for up to 2 weeks. A $25 late fee will be issued if the Program Kit is returned after the due date. Please contact the Service Center you reserved your Program Kit through if the Program Kit is going to be late.

Do the Program Kits complete an entire badge or journey?
No, The Program Kit curriculums are not designed to complete an entire badge or journey. Girl Scout Leadership Experience outcomes and National Program Portfolio materials (badges and journeys) have been integrated into the Program Kit to fulfill requirements of a particular badge or journey. Please refer to the summary for the Program Kit you are interested in for specific details

Are all of the supplies that we will need for the curriculum for the program in the Program kit?
No, not all of the supplies to complete the curriculum are in the Program Kit. A detailed list of all supplies provided in the Program Kit and those that need to be provided by the Program Kit renter can be found in the curriculum guide. You can access the virtual curriculum guides by clicking on the Program Kit title. A PDF of the curriculum will open.

Can we make copies of the curriculum?
You can make copies of specific activities and guides if you would like. If you would like to print out the Virtual Program Guide and not check out the Program Kit you are welcome to do so. If you decide to print out the Program Guide and not check out the Program Kit, you will need to provide all of the supplies for your troop or community.
