11 Badgerland Girl Scouts Earn Gold

2017 Gold Awardees

Badgerland celebrated the amazing achievements of exceptional Girl Scouts in an inspiring and moving Awards Ceremony. There were 11 Badgerland Girl Scouts who earned the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award, Girl Scouting’s highest award. The Gold Award recognizes girls demonstrating extraordinary leadership through take-action projects that have sustainable impact in their communities.

According to the Girl Scout Research Institute, Gold Award recipients receive greater lifetime benefits than their peers, reporting a more positive sense of self; more leadership experience; and greater life satisfaction, life success, community service commitment and civic engagement—thanks to their Girl Scout experience, including earning their Gold Award. Nationwide, less than 5 percent of eligible Girl Scouts achieve the Gold Award making these 11 teenagers part of an elite circle.

The Awards Ceremony included honoring 43 Cadettes who earned their Silver Award and 70 graduating seniors, who were presented their Girl Scout green graduate cords before they bridged to adult.
