Why Girl Scout Camp?

Make New Friends

There’s nothing quite like giggling over games in the bunk or singing songs with new besties around a campfire. That’s why it’s actually good to go to camp where you might not know many (or any) other girls! Having a diverse group of friends, not just kids you know from school, will broaden your horizons and help you see your own worth, too.

Be All You Can Be

Surrounded by the support of friends old and new, Girl Scouts are more comfortable trying new outdoor activities at summer camp. And you get to take the lead every single time—meaning there’s plenty of room at the top for you to take charge and flex your muscles, both when it comes to outdoor adventure and crucial leadership skills that will last a lifetime.

Tune in to Nature

Soaking in the sun, hearing the birds, smelling the flowers. You'll love the feeling of being unplugged and reconnected with nature, moments you will relish all the more when you're back in the classroom in September.

Grow Your Grit

We won't sugarcoat it. You might scrape a knee or twist your ankle - and that's a good thing! When you learn to get back up after minor setbacks, like bumps and bruises, you build resilience and learn that you're tougher than you realized.

Meet New Mentors

Teachers and parents are great, but nothing beats the fun you have with camp counselors. Our counselors are camp experts and love to share their passion for the outdoors with the next generation.

Gain Independence

Being away from home - even just for a few nights - can be a bit intimidating. BUT having that time to explore on your own will teach self-reliance and confidence. Girl Scout camp is a safe place to challenge yourself, knowing you have camp full of Girl Scout sisters ready to support you.

Just Play

Playing is anything but a waste of time. Studies show that play allows the neurons in a child's brain to form new connections - and that this rewiring boosts emotional intelligence, decision making, creativity, and problem solving abilities.

Which style is right for you?

Epic Ehawee

Traditional overnight camps just for girls at Camp Ehawee in La Crosse County. Your favorite activities from previous camps are available every week so families can select the week that works best for your schedules.

Adventure Pods

Convenient, 2-night weekend camps for a Girl Scout and her grown-up at Camp Brandenburg in Dane County. This camp is for the Girl Scout who isn't ready to try camp on their own. Bring your grown-up and see what camp is all about.

Troop Camps

Troop Camp is exactly what it sounds like, standard Summer Camp but you can bring the whole troop! Ideal for troops of any age and is a great way to try camp while sticking with some familiar faces.

Leadership Camps

Exciting programming exclusively for older Girl Scouts. This is the best path to take to become a Camp Counselor one day! New this year are Leadership Adventure Camps for girls in grades 6-11.

CampHERO & CampBUILD

Our incredibly popular specialty camps. CampHERO explores the work of law enforcement, fire suppression, and emergency medical care. CampBUILD teaches construction, engineering, and working with tools.

Financial Aid

Camp scholarships are available to Badgerland Girl Scouts attending camp. Each person may only apply for a scholarship for one camp.

Families meeting requirements for the National School Lunch Program are eligible to apply for a Campership. Not sure if you're eligible? Check out our Financial Guidelines.
