Programs are listed by the grade she is completing this spring.

Girls are tomorrow’s architects, carpenters, electricians, glaziers...builders! CampBUILD is presented in partnership with Girl Scouts and Madison Area Technical College’s School of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology and its Construction & Remodeling Program.
The school is lending its expertise to deliver top-notch experiences to Girl Scouts in this exclusive one-of-a-kind Badgerland program!

CampBUILD: Apprentice | Grades 5-7 | Level 4
August 5-7

Build a house! Girls will gain the foundational skills needed to know how to build a house. There will be lab work as campers dive into computer aided design to create their project. From there, they’ll gain expertise in using hand tools and power tools. And there’s more - apprentice builders will also explore welding, electrical circuits and plumbing. By the end of this 3 day camp, girls come away ready to be an apprentice builder with simple projects at home and in the community.

CampBUILD: Journeyworker | Grades 8-12 | Level 5
August 12-16

Meet, work and learn from women professionals in the building trades! Girls will learn the skills it takes for home construction with emphasis on
energy efficiency and green building. Working alongside trades professionals, girls will learn the basics of computer aided design, carpentry, electrical and plumbing systems while keeping an eye on solar electric systems, water conserving plumbing and the basics of welding. This camp is all about being hands-on and making sure girls
learn to use power tools while discovering what it means to enter a skilled trade apprenticeship. So much amazing mentoring will happen along the way, as campers work with exceptional women
experts in these trades—hear their stories and
gain their expertise.

*NOTE: Our overnight accommodations for CampBUILD will be at nearby
Camp Brandenburg. Each evening girls will be bused
there to sleep in bunkhouses with their construction
crew. Evening time at camp will also allow girls to work
together on project preparation for the next day.

GREAT IDEA: IF HER SILVER or GOLD PROJECT INVOLVES CONSTRUCTION, THIS IS A GREAT CAMP TO ATTEND!
