You Are What You Eat! [Grades 6-8] – April 14, 2019

Girls will learn about healthy eating while preparing a variety of delicious and nutritious dishes.  Learn how different foods affect your health, as well as your skin, your energy, your sleep, and stress levels.  Girls will discuss the benefits of anti-oxidants and “Eating by Color�? as well as other benefits of eating healthy foods while preparing 4 delicious and nutritious dishes under the guidance of Culinary Instructor/Professional Chef Joel Olson of Hemmachef.  On the menu:  Rainbow Salad with Creamy Herb Dressing; Rajma Masala (Red Bean Curry); Quick Tomato and Vegetable Soup;  and Fresh- Made Hummus with Vegetables.  (NOTE: All dishes are Nut-free and Vegetarian; most are Dairy-free.)
   
Note: 
Please inform Chef Joel of any food allergies/sensitivities. Participants must wear close-toed shoes. Long Hair should be pulled back or put in a ponytail. Chef Joel will provide aprons and towels to use during the class.

IMPORTANT DETAILS ABOUT THIS PROGRAM:
  • Girls attending with their troop must bring the appropriate number of adults to fulfill Girl Scout Safety Ratios.
  • Girls attending independently must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • Please bring a water bottle.
