Okay. Let’s say you’re a leader and your girls really really really want to do a troop overnighter at one of the camps. Where do you start? Well, that’s where we come in! We have a nifty home study training to get you geared up (and certified!) for your big weekend.

Or what if you’re a brand new leader and have no clue where to even start with a troop meeting? No worries! We've got it covered.

We have fun trainings loaded with info for all volunteers working with girls. You'll walk away feeling confident and empowered to lead your Girl Scouts on amazing adventures.


Find Your Training

Girl Scouting 101

Highly Recommended But Not Required Training.
Are you brand new to Girl Scouts and need some background information? This training is not required but has some great information for volunteers completely new to the Girl Scout Experience. It includes the fundamentals – the Promise and Law, Girl Scout Mission and history, an introduction to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting and the Journeys program.

Badgerland Volunteer Essentials

Required Training.
This 22-minute online training is required for all Badgerland volunteers who will work directly with the girls including troop co-leaders, treasurers, troop cookie coordinators and troop chaperone and drivers. This training covers the nuts and bolts of what Badgerland volunteers need to know to be safe, effective and successful in their volunteer role.

After you view the video you must complete this quick survey to get credit for the course.

New Leader Training

There are two ways to complete your New Leader Training requirements, in-person or online.

In-Person Daisy or Brownie/Junior Leader Training
Daisy, Brownie or Junior Leader training is required for all NEW Daisy, Brownie or Junior troop co-leaders, and recommended for returning Daisy, Brownie or Junior co-leaders and all other volunteers who wish to assist with a Daisy, Brownie or Junior troop.

These trainings will cover how to lead meetings, the ins and outs of the Girl Scout curriculum and information on working with our digital resource, Volunteer Toolkit. In-person leader trainings are a great opportunity to network with and learn from other leaders.

If you can’t make an in-person training, Badgerland is offering live Daisy Leader Training Webinars and live Brownie/Junior Leader Training Webinars.

NEW! Experienced Brownie or Junior Leaders Training

This training is intended for returning or experienced Brownie or Junior Leaders who want information on the curriculum choices available for Brownie and Junior leaders. We'll also cover more in-depth instruction on using Volunteer Toolkit.

NOTE: If you are a NEW Daisy, Brownie or Junior leader this training will not satisfy your new leader training requirement. Instead, click the New Leader Training arrow above.

Troop Leader Tips

Not Required. Enrichment Trainings.
Videos from GSUSA on a variety of troop topics, like welcoming new girls, the best way to get your troop’s attention, activities to do at the beginning of the troop meeting and more.

Outdoor Trainings

Take your girls camping, but get certified first!

Troop Overnight Certification 1 (TOC 1)
Required for overnights with your Girl Scouts at a property with indoor plumbing and electricity. Complete and submit the Course Completion, located at the end of the home study TOC 1 packet. You will be notified by email when your course completion is approved.


Troop Overnight Certification 2 (TOC 2)
Required for overnights with your Girl Scouts at a property with primitive living conditions, such as no indoor plumbing. Complete and submit the test questions. You will be notified by email when your course completion is approved.


Outdoor Skills and Camp Videos
These fun videos have handy tips for taking your troop into the great outdoors (even if it’s your first time), and fun summer camp hacks.
