Camp Ehawee, located near La Crosse, is our largest overnight camp property.
VIRTUAL TOURCamp Ehawee (pronounced e-how-e) was purchased in 1951. Girl Scouts at the time held a competition to name the new camp, and Jacqualine Kramer won with the name "Camp Ehawee," meaning "Camp of the Laughing Maidens." Camp Ehawee is our overnight resident camp and can accommodate a large number of campers and staff.
Camp Ehawee is full of large trees, creek access, many trails, and an array of sleeping options. This camp property is quite expansive with over 200 acres of land. There truly is a place for everyone at Camp Ehawee.
Ehawee campers canoe on a tributary of the Black River and creek hop at Crystal Creek. This property is also complete with an outdoor amphitheater, heated pool, cabins, hatchet throwing, archery, field sports, sand volleyball, a nature center, trading post, and so much more.
Camp Brandenburg, located in Dane, WI, has Girl Scout history dating back to 1942.
VIRTUAL TOURCamp Brandenburg was donated to the Madison Area Girl Scouts in 1942 and has been under the care of Badgerland Council ever since. Its diverse terrain and private lake access make it the perfect day camp location for Girl Scout programming, and overnight location for troops and service units.
As the first permanent Girl Scout camp in the Madison area, Camp Brandenburg was designed to teach campers a simple way of life. Many platform tents are still available, allowing campers to experience this simplicity. Additionally, the property features cabins, a hilltop building with bunkrooms, and a house. Girls adore Hilltop Lodge because the hallways literally climb the hillside to four bunkhouses that sleep campers.
After numerous renovations and updates, Camp Brandenburg continues to serve local Girl Scouts. Switchback trails meander through towering trees and there's a lakeside open-air shelter, gorgeous campsites, giant fields and performing arts space. Here, they can canoe, throw hatchets, craft, build campfires, paddleboat, make new friends, and much more.
