Begin your leadership-award journey during an interactive preparation workshop. Participants will explore how younger children learn, practice inclusive communication and facilitation skills, and begin planning age-appropriate activities.
Girl Scouts will:
Develop leadership skills by learning about the developmental characteristics of younger Girl Scouts and age-appropriate strategies for communication, engagement, and activity planning to create positive and meaningful experiences.
Build confidence in planning and facilitating engaging, age-appropriate activities and prepare to lead a full meeting or station at a Badgerland Council event that encourages participation, teamwork, and growth among younger Girl Scouts.
Strengthen personal leadership by reflecting on leadership experiences, evaluating personal strengths and areas for growth, and identifying how these skills can be applied in future school, career, and community leadership opportunities.
This event prepares Girl Scouts to grow as confident leaders by learning how to connect with younger girls, understand their developmental needs, and create welcoming, inclusive experiences. Participants will gain hands-on experience planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate activities before they try their hand at facilitating a full troop meeting for younger Girl Scouts or volunteering at a station for a Badgerland Council event. Through guided reflection, they will evaluate their leadership strengths, identify areas for growth, and discover how the skills they develop can support future opportunities in school, careers, Girl Scouts, and their communities.
This award stands strong on its own-and it's a prerequisite for the Silver and Gold Award!
