Girl Scouts will:
Expand leadership knowledge and life skills by participating in monthly Deep Dive Sessions that explore topics such as college readiness, career pathways, résumé writing, mock interviews, financial literacy, mindfulness, and other areas that support personal and professional growth.
Connect with Girl Scout staff, community leaders, and subject matter experts to build relationships, explore future opportunities, and gain practical skills that can be applied in school, careers, and everyday leadership experiences.
Foster long-term leadership development by engaging in the Youth Leadership Academy community, with the opportunity to qualify for a Youth Leadership Advisor role by participating in at least five of the seven Deep Dive Sessions and completing one year in the program.
Get ready to grow your leadership skills, explore exciting future opportunities, and connect with inspiring professionals through our Youth Leadership Academy Deep Dive Series! Included in your registration, you'll receive a Youth Leadership Academy T-shirt, an exclusive YLA branded sticker, and access to all 7 monthly Deep Dive Sessions. Once registered we will be sending out a Jotform where you can RSVP for the sessions you'd like to attend. We are happy to have you for 1, some or all 7 sessions!
Each session will take place from 12:00 PM-3:00 PM at the Madison Leadership Center and will feature members of the Badgerland Program Team alongside subject matter experts covering topics to support you in your personal and professional lives.
Attend at least 5 of the 7 sessions during the year, and you'll be eligible to apply to become a Youth Leadership Advisor the following year. Our advisors have an exciting opportunity to help create meaningful opportunities for Older Girl Scouts and provide valuable input to guide future program decisions and plans.

The Youth Leadership Academy Deep Dive Series is part of the EmpowerU leadership journey, giving Girl Scouts the opportunity to explore prevalent life skills beyond the conference. While EmpowerU introduces a wide range of ideas, the Deep Dive Series provides dedicated time to build skills, ask questions, connect with mentors, and put leadership into practice through interactive experiences. Participants can continue their journey at EmpowerU Camp (details to be announced with 2027 Badgerland Camps), where they'll experience life on a Wisconsin University campus, collaborate with fellow Girl Scouts, and put their leadership skills into action through immersive challenges and new experiences.
