Youth Leadership Council
Have something to say? Then maybe YLC is for you.
The Youth Leadership Council (YLC) is the girl voice of Badgerland. Each summer, Badgerland teenagers are invited to apply to sit on the YLC and represent their sister Girl Scouts. What do YLC girls do? Well, they get together every other month with the Badgerland CEO and other professional staff to talk about topics impacting Girl Scouts today. Girls get a chance to roundtable discussions on everything from bullying to the Emma Watson's HeforShe speech at the United Nations to what merch would be fun to sell in the shop.
Members of the YLC are brand ambassadors for Girl Scouts. For instance, each fall, two YLC girls are invited to host the Annual Meeting in front of a crowd of hundreds. Another YLC girl had the opportunity to interview United States Senator Tammy Baldwin about how Girl Scouting influenced her life. See the interview here! Still more YLC girls speak at public and civic events about their Girl Scout Journeys.
