At the special National Council Session held in the fall of 2024, over 800 delegates from around the country voted to increase membership dues. These are national Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) dues and support national efforts. Girl dues will increase $40 over a two-year phase-in period. Adult dues will increase $5 in one year.
GSUSA Girl memberships will be $45 in Membership Year 2026 and $65 in Membership Year 2027
GSUSA Adult memberships will be $30 effective Membership Year 2026
Badgerland, like many councils around the country, adds a Council Service Fee to girl memberships to support local efforts, especially our financial aid package.
- National vs. Local Dues:
- National dues go 100% to Girl Scouts of the USA to support national operations and programming.
- The Badgerland Council Service Fee stays 100% local, directly supporting financial aid for families in our community, ensuring girls have access to Girl Scouting, regardless of financial circumstances.
- 2026 Badgerland Council Service Fee = $10
- The $10 Badgerland Council Service Fee for girl members will remain in place for Membership Year 2026 to meet anticipated increased demand for financial aid due to rising national dues.
- A decision on the 2027 Council Service Fee will be made at a later date.
- Badgerland Membership Dues: October 2026 - September 2027
- Girl Members: $55 ($45 national dues + $10 Badgerland Council Service Fee)
- Adult Members: $30 (national dues only)
- There is NO CHANGE to Lifetime Memberships
- Affordability and Value:
- The new pricing structure breaks down to less than $5 per month for a Badgerland girl membership in 2026, a small cost that provides tremendous value through life-changing experiences and opportunities for girls to grow into confident, capable leaders.
- This is the first price increase in EIGHT years.
- A comparison with similar organizations showed that most raised their national dues since 2019, and some considerably: Scouting America (formerly BSA) to $85, American Heritage Girls to $60, and Frontier Girls to $35.
Our current dues did not reflect the value that Girl Scouting offers. This increase brings the cost of Girl Scout membership more in line with similar organizations, reflects our value, supports our Movement’s transformational initiatives, and enables future growth.
