As we look ahead to the 2025 Cookie Program, we want to share an important update about cookie pricing. Starting this season, the cost of Girl Scout Cookies will be $6 per package, including gluten-free cookies which are still at $6. This change aligns with other councils in Wisconsin and surrounding states to keep our pricing competitive and sustainable.
To share more details, Lisa Smith, our Badgerland CEO, has recorded a special message. Watch the video below to hear directly from Lisa and learn more about what's coming in the 2025 Cookie Program.
The decision to raise the price of cookies to $6 is driven by the rising costs in all areas of production. From ingredients and packaging to transportation and warehousing, every part of the Cookie Program has been affected by inflation. Last year, Badgerland absorbed these rising costs, but continuing to do so is no longer sustainable.
By moving to the $6 price point, Badgerland joins all of Wisconsin’s Girl Scout councils and bordering states. This adjustment ensures that we can continue offering a high-quality, long-term programing for our Girl Scouts and Volunteers while aligning with regional and national pricing trends.
In addition to the price change, we’re thrilled to announce increased troop proceeds for the 2025 season! Troops will now earn $1 per box sold, one of the highest rates in the country. Here are some key updates:
We know that adjusting to a new price may take some extra time, so we’ve extended the cookie-selling season by two additional weeks, giving troops and families a total of seven weeks to reach their goals. The 2025 Cookie Program will now run from February 22 to April 13, 2025.
The extra time is completely optional—if your troop wraps up early, that’s fine! But for those who want more flexibility to meet their goals, the extended time can be a great benefit.
To further support your troop, we’re continuing our no-risk consignment cookie policy during the final two weeks of the sale. This means troops can check out cookies without upfront cost, and any unsold boxes can be returned at no charge. This added flexibility makes it easier for troops to boost their sales without financial risk!
We know this price increase may raise some questions, and we’re here to help. We’re preparing updated resources for troops to use ahead of the sale to confidently address customer inquiries about the price change.
Additionally, Lisa Smith will be hosting her annual Listening Tour this fall. Starting in late October, Lisa will hold in-person and virtual sessions to connect directly with our volunteers and families. It’s a chance to share your questions, concerns, and ideas—stay tuned for dates and locations to be announced soon!
It’s important to remember that all cookie proceeds stay local and directly benefit our Girl Scouts and troops. More than ever, people are excited to support local Girl Scouts, and we’ve seen that 85-90% of people will buy cookies if they’re asked! With your continued dedication, this cookie season will be a meaningful and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
